It's still early March so it's a bit early to start proclaiming spring is here on the first day it's above 40 degrees. I live maybe 15 miles south of the Mason-Dixon line (seriously, there's a monument) so I knew winter would maybe be longer/harder than what I'm used to.
Apparently, according to long-time locals, this winter has been harsher than most.
It's almost 60 degrees right now, and I have my windows open and am listening to birds sing in the pine trees next door. So yes, in my mind, it's spring and that means florals.
1// Kimonos are a hot trend right now and I think it'll probably stick around due to their mostly universal appeal. Most of them have been too short for my tastes, but this gray one from Lane Bryant is the perfect length. I also really like the mix of colors and it looks to have a bit of weight to it. Great for those spring days where it's warm in the sun but a bit chilly in the shade.
2// I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it on the Lands' End website and I'm ordering it for Easter. I love the length, I love the print, and the red piping on the belt is a wonderful touch. The straps do look wide enough to cover bra straps, it has a semi-deep scoop in the back that may not cover everything. I'm probably going to pick up a matching cardigan just in case.
3// This is just an overall nice tee. The cornflower blue flowers on top of the lime Greek Key print is nice, but I also like that it has elbow-length sleeves.
4// The print on these Pixie Pants from Old Navy remind me of a purse I bought from Anthropologie probably five years ago, back before quality went to hell (that's a post for later). Like everything I've featured today, I like the print and colors. I really like these pants because I wouldn't have to buy anything to match them. I will warn you a bit on the Pixie Pants: the stretch on them is weird. The back of them, such as in the rear, is super-stretchy. The front seems to lack stretch completely.
5// I like the subdued print and colors on this cardigan. I've also been on a big gray and yellow kick lately. I have gray pants and a skirt that would pair nicely with this cardigan. This is pretty much my go-to office look.
