Ava & Viv Review

I finally made it into Target to get a better look at the Ava & Viv line. I had a read a few other reviews and the amount of product in stores ranged widely, some had only three racks, others had around eight. I looked at the collection in two stores: Huntington, WV and Wheeling, WV. The pictures for this post were taken at the Huntington store.

An overall view of the Ava & Viv section.

Huntington had around six-seven racks of clothes. There was one rack that was right out in front that was advertising the line, but you had to search a bit to find the rest. Wheeling, on the other hand, had over ten racks full and it was all up front and center, which was nice.

As mentioned everywhere else, there's nothing new in this collection that hasn't been seen before. Every plus size section sells jean jackets, dolman tops, thin maxi skirts, and open cardigans. Why is it so hard to add buttons to a plus size cardigan? At least there's some color in the line.

As boring as the line may be, the fit of the items is very good. The jeans I tried on made me look incredible. I tried the bootcut pair in a dark wash. The denim--and I use that term lightly--had a nice color and the whiskering wasn't horrible. I should note that the pockets on the back are large, and this detail is important. The smaller the pocket, the larger your rear looks. The short sleeve blouse above also fit really well. It wasn't just a polyester tent. For the fit alone, I recommend looking at Ava & Viv. Yes, it's a bunch of basics but they're well-fitting basics, and that's important for any wardrobe.
