With Labor Days less than two weeks away, it's time to start checking the summer clearance rack. Even though Labor Day is the fashion's world official start of fall, temperatures can still be well into the 90s through September. Pre-fall, that is, styles in fall colors and trends but in summer weights--aren't  very common in plus size collections. Also, why pay full price when you can get comparable items for less?

Talbot's ikat cardigan: this lightweight sweater would be great year-round. It is one of those fastener-free sweaters, but you can add a hidden hook-and-eye clasp if the flapping around bothers you (I can't stand it).

Lauren Ralph Lauren sweater dress: I really love the colors in this dress. It's a great piece to wear from early spring through the first snowflakes.

Michael Kors anorak: Orange is the trendy color for fall and anoraks are still everywhere to be found. If you want something lightweight you can hunt in (or just want to stand out from the olive/army green anoraks everywhere) this jacket is your best pick.

Eloquii gingham blouse: Just a pleasant top that can be worn year-round. If you find one of these shirts on sale, grab it!

Michael Kors tassel handbag: Available in three lovely colors, the reason this purse caught my eye was the tassel detail.

Watch: I love the colors and simplicity of this watch. Professional enough for the office, casual enough for the weekend.

Cole Haan pumps: Another year-round wardrobe item at a great price. Available in four colors.

Perforated flats: These shoes come in sizes 5.5 through 11, along with W and WW widths available. Cute and whimsical at a great price.

Lauren Ralph Lauren paisley dress: I'd pair this dress with brown cardigan. For the farmer's market I'd toss on some espadrilles and in October I'd add some brown boots.
