I am still knee deep in packing and trying to get everything ready for my move next Monday. Prep'd Picks for next week will be on Wednesday and therefore no post on Monday. In the meantime,
have a nice weekend and think warm thoughts.

-In case you haven't heard already, Lilly Pulitzer is coming to Target and she's bringing plus sizes!

-However, the plus sizes are only going to be offered online. There's already backlash brewing against the decision to not carry them in store.

I try to keep politics off this blog--body/sizing politics especially-- but I'd like to add my two cents to this argument. The number one driver of traffic to this blog is people looking for plus size Lilly Pulitzer clothing. Despite being a very small niche blog, variations of the search terms "Lilly Pulitzer Plus Sizes" bring me thousands of hits a week and many people have converted into regular readers. For this, I thank you very much. Now getting back to the matter at hand, I think the hostility towards Target is unwarranted and ridiculous. As a plus size community, we keep begging and pleading designers and stores to carry merchandise in our sizes. When someone finally relents, in this case Target and Lilly Pulitzer, we get angry despite getting the very thing we asked for and raise hell on social media. I fear if the loudest of the plus size community are going to be the angry ones, brands and designers are just going to decide that plus sizes are not going to be worth the time, money, and effort if it's just going to result in negative press. Are we more concerned with winning the war of getting more available in our size, or are we spending too much time and effort on an insignificant battle?

-One brave soul documented her trials in trying on ten pairs of size 16 jeans.

-The Baby Center website has a great list of various baby-related items that are available in plus sizes, such as carriers and nursing bras.

-Again with the unnecessary anger: an Old Navy email "insults" plus sizes with their design layout.
