Everything pictured above are the absolute favorite things from 2014. With the exception of the purse (it was a Christmas gift), I bought everything here and would do so again in a heartbeat.
Old Navy Pixie Pants // I've bought three pairs this year, and this Nantucket Red pair is next on my list. Since Old Navy's vanity sizing--and clothing stretch-- is out of hand, I recommend going down a size.
MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Rich Lipstick // This is from their current 'Lightness of Being' line which I think may actually be for spring but this is hands down the best lipstick I've bought all year. I picked up Style Surge, a cheerful coral that's been a nice pick-me-up during these gray days.
Lands' End Chalet wedge Chukka booties // My Clarks Wallabees are among my favorite pair of shoes but I've been getting tired of wearing them everyday to work.
J.Crew 57 Perfume // A lot of perfumes bother me, but this unique fragrance starts off with whiskey notes to dry down into a soft vanilla/oak woods scent by the end of the day. There's also a sister fragrance, 31, that I want to pick up that I would describe as an oriental floral that would be great for spring and summer.
Longchamp Le Pliege // I've actually had one of these bags before, but I can't say enough great things about them. They last forever and style-wish they're pretty neutral, perfect for the woman who wants just one bag. I've seen professionals use them down to the casual stroller on a weekend morning. They also come in a million colors and several sizes so it's easy to please anyone.
Tom Ford Coral Beach Polish // I guess you could call this the year of coral. I love this polish and wear it all the time. Even though it was for Tom Ford's summer collection, I've found it to work in the fall and winter.
Land's End Drifter Sweater // I'm wearing this sweater as I type this and it's fantastic. It's thicker than most sweaters and the weave design on the front is a nice detail. I will say this runs a tad smaller than most of Land's End clothing. It's on the short side compared with their other sweaters and the sleeves are just barely come down to my wrists. If you're taller than me (5'11") or have long arms take that into account.
-Eloquii is starting to offer selected items in sizes 26-28. If there's enough demand, those sizes will move to the rest of their line. This is a fantastic move on their part and one that I hope a lot of other brands will start follow.
-Despite the body acceptance movement that flows in the plus size community, many feel that that only hourglass shapes are the ones being celebrated.
-Many plus size models are being asked to wear fat pads for their shoots. Yes, you read that right.
-The New York Times discusses how the plus size industry has expanded in the past year. Of note is the $6 million investment that was made to Eloquii. Hopefully they'll use some of that money to make something I can wear to work that isn't a bodycon dress, crop top, or made of scuba/neoprene.
-Mark your planners! Lilly Pulitzer's throwing a sale starting January 5th at 8:00 EST! If you want to make sure you get your hands on something, read my post from their last sale with my tips.
